Frequently asked questions
Everything families and teachers ask us about the book. Can't find your question? Write to us from the footer.
What age is the book for?
For children aged 2 to 8. Little ones (2-4) love listening to it and looking at the pictures; from 5 to 7 it's perfect for starting to read it on their own, with a little help; and by 8 they read it easily and laugh along with Grumbles.
What kind of letters does the English edition use?
The English edition uses clear, simple print letters designed for early readers, so little ones can recognise each letter and start reading the story on their own (with your help).
Does it help children learn to read?
Yes. It uses clear letters, short sentences, simple words, fun sound effects and repetition that builds confidence. The big illustrations help children understand what they read. And because the story hooks them, they want to read it again and again.
What is the book like? How big is it?
It's a square paperback (21.6 × 21.6 cm / 8.5 × 8.5 in, a nice size for little hands) with 40 full-colour illustrated pages. At the end you'll find each character's profile and activities to keep playing.
Is there a Spanish edition?
Yes: «Draquis y Mipis: ¡Qué jaleo en el bosque!». It's written in Spanish school cursive (letra ligada), the joined-up handwriting children learn in Spanish schools, and it's available on Amazon.es.
Is there an ebook version?
For now the book is available as a paperback, because we believe a story for learning to read is best enjoyed on paper. If it comes out in other formats, newsletter subscribers will be the first to know.
Where can I buy it?
The English edition is available on Amazon.com, Amazon.co.uk and other Amazon stores, and the Spanish edition on Amazon.es. The buy buttons on this website take you straight to the book.
Is it a good book for welcoming a new baby brother or sister?
Yes. Draquis watches his sister Mipis hatch, and the story shows, with humour and tenderness, what happens next: the little one copies everything, the squabbles, the making up and how much they love each other. It's a lovely way to talk with your child about having a brother or sister.
Can I use it in the classroom?
Of course! It works great for early-reading activities. On this website you'll find free cut-outs and colouring pages as A4 PDFs, ready to print.
